What are you Choosing to Create?

Whether it is a conscious choice or not, whatever we place our attention on is what our energy moves towards and is therefore what we are choosing to create.  No matter what kind of day you’re having, always find something to be grateful for and learn to put your focus on that, even if it’s just the shoes on your feet, the food in your belly, a smile from a stranger, or the sun in the sky.

When you focus on the positive things in your life, you give energy to that and, just like when you tend to the plants in your garden, you help those positive things in your life to grow, expand, and multiple. They produce food and flowers for you now, and seeds for your future.

If we want positive relationships now and in the future, if we want a healthy body, a successful and fulfilling career, a beautiful and safe home to live in, or just to make a positive difference in the life of another, then we must give energy to that. We must give those things our attention; we must tend to them, and take positive action steps towards both creating and nurturing that which we desire, even if it means stepping out of our comfort zone.

The opposite is also true. If we neglect our homes, our careers, our health, our relationships, if we fail to tend to all the various facets of our lives that are important to us, or if we choose to only focus on what we perceive as negative, then that is what we are directing our creative energy towards. Not only will we create more negativity for ourselves, but the neglected facets of our lives will become stagnant. They will become a destructive force in our lives as they vie for our attention, or they will eventually wither and die.

What or whom are you giving your attention to today, and what are you choosing to create?

Love is The Answer

“Be a sweet melody in the great orchestration, instead of a discordant note. The medicine this world needs is love. Hatred must be replaced by love, and fear by faith that love will prevail.” – Peace Pilgrim

Beginning right now, please join me for a self-look in the mirror. How many people could I have made a difference to today had I merely been less self-centered and more kind with my thoughts and words? How many abused children and others less fortunate in life could I have impacted by giving them something – if only a prayer or a desire to help?

As we look in the mirror at ourselves, recognize that each of us has a choice. We may continue serving our own egos as our master, or we can decide that where our ego has brought us to date just doesn’t satisfy that soul hunger burning inside us.

Today, please do as I have done and open up your heart to feel what others feel. Yes, it’s risky as it requires us to become more vulnerable, but it is truly worth the risk.

A smile, a kind word or a simple loving gesture to a child, adolescent or adult who hungers for help can make an enormous difference, whether or not we personally know the recipients.

After all, LOVE is the answer and with it, everything good grows.
